  • Go to Online reporting system register or join under Alabama Hope Academy as your cover school.  Fill in parent information, student information. Add grades, subjects etc. from the transcript you picked up at previous school when withdrawing.
  • Any time you have new grades, add them to system.  You may do this when you want. Weekly, monthly, by semesters, or only once in May.  AHA does require that you have grades, subjects, credits etc. filled in by May.  You can also print reports cards whenever you like.
  • You may grade your child anyway you like.  You may use any curriculum or any form of instruction you like.  If you need help or information please fill free to let us know. That's why we are here contact@alabamahomeschool.org
  • When you put in your school year make sure you add the days your child has attended a previous school.  The number does not have to be exact but as close as possible.  AHA requires 140 per year but you may go over that as much as you want.  Yes you may go year round.  The system will keep your attendance as well as grades etc.    contact@alabamahomeschool.org

Curriculum
  • With AHA you may use any curriculum, or method of instruction you want.  If you type in homeschool curriculum in any search engine you will find thousands of providers. This can become very confusing.  We recommend you do not buy a full year of curriculum at first.   It may take trying several before you find one that fits well with your family.  On this site is a few listed under links page.  AHA also has curriculum information on members site. But if you need help please feel free to just ask, we are happy to help.  Need some information? Email AHA
Common Problems
  • While paying enrollment fee with AHA.  On payment form.  If you put your home address as where you live now and the credit/debit card has a different address then your payment will be rejected.  Just make sure on payment page you put address card company has as your home address.  But on your enrollment forms make sure you put where you live at now as home address.  If you receive mail at even different address add that address as well on form.
  • Once a family decides to homeschool.  Seems the first thing they do is go online.  When you find a website that says K-12, homeschool, diploma.  That does not mean it is legal in Al.  Families have enrolled with some online and found out later they were never legally enrolled in homeschool.  You must have a cover, church, umbrella that is physically located in the state of Alabama.  If they just enroll, or sell curriculum in Al they are legal. They must have home office in Alabama or you are not legal.  Now if you really like their curriculum with AHA you may use it. Unless it is a website that is public school charter, in which case AHA does not want you to use it while enrolled with us. Why? Because you will be legally enrolled with a public school online.  In Alabama this is not even legal at this time. Alabama has not passed any charter schools as of 12/2011.  If you would like more information on this matter please just let us know.Email AHA
