Permit (written test)
In Alabama you may take your drivers license written test and receive a permit. You can drive with parent/adult legal driver in car.
- You must be 15 year of age.
- You must print your form from our members site, and carry it with you to your local DMV day of test.
Licenses
Once you have taken your written test and you are 16 years of age you may take your drivers test.
If you were enrolled with AHA when you received your permit then you do not need anything else.
If you were enrolled with another school before you came to AHA when you received your permit.
AHA highly recommends you print and carry a new one to your local DMV just to keep them updated..
Ages 15-19 suspended licenses
The new state law is if someone is between the ages of 15-19 and they quit school or have to many unexcused absences the state will suspend their drivers licenses. The new age of school children is 17 now istead of 16. Which means a child can not quit school at the age of 16, unless the child was homeschooled (enrolled with cover school) at age 15 or before, and their superintendent has been notified with church school enrollment form. Otherwise the child must be 17.
. But if the child (between 15-19) does not have a high school diploma the state DPS will suspend their drivers license
AHA has the form you will need to take to the DMV in your AHA members doc's. Please log in first. Instructions are also included. |
